About Ed Smaron
Ed is a composer/songwriter who now specializes in creating production music for commercials, film, TV, and other projects.
His style ranges from upbeat to sinister, using piano, synthesizers, percussion and the occasional guitar.
He picked out his first tune on a toy organ at age three, and he's been performing professionally since the early 90's. For nearly ten years, he was a musical director for improvisational comedy theaters in Chicago and Los Angeles, including the legendary Second City. He's worked with a long roster of familiar Hollywood names, writing and co-writing original songs for sketch comedy revues and scoring improvised sketches on the fly in front of packed houses across the U.S.
Ed has also written hundreds of songs with lyrics, and released a solo EP, "Atheist Blonde," in 2015.
Outside the studio, he's a full time radio traffic reporter, working voiceover talent, global traveler, amateur chef and avid photographer.
